About Seoul Skin Guide

Seoul Skin Guide is a Korean skincare resource written by a dermatologist based in Seoul, South Korea.

I’m a board-certified dermatologist in my mid-thirties. I grew up with troubled skin — years of breakouts, sensitivity, and the kind of frustration that comes from trying product after product without understanding why things were or weren’t working. That experience, combined with clinical training, gave me a perspective I couldn’t have gotten from textbooks alone.

I’ve spent extended time living in California and Southeast Asia, which gave me direct exposure to how women in different climates and skin types approach skincare — and how often genuinely good Korean products go undiscovered simply because the information isn’t presented clearly in English.

What this site is

Seoul Skin Guide is not a trend-chasing beauty blog. It’s a practical resource for women who want clear, trustworthy skincare guidance grounded in how Korean dermatologists and skincare-conscious women actually approach their skin.

Every recommendation on this site is made with specific skin types and concerns in mind. I don’t recommend products I wouldn’t use clinically or personally, and I explain the reasoning behind every pick so you can make an informed decision for your own skin — not just follow a list.

Who this is for

This site is primarily written for women with acne-prone, sensitive, or oily skin — especially those living in humid climates or dealing with the skin challenges that come with warm weather, active lifestyles, and daily SPF use.

Most readers are based in the United States or Southeast Asia. I keep both contexts in mind when making recommendations — from texture preferences to climate-related concerns to where products are actually available to buy.

How products are chosen

Products featured on Seoul Skin Guide are selected based on formulation quality, ingredient compatibility with sensitive or acne-prone skin, texture suitability for warm and humid climates, and real-world performance. Availability on YesStyle and Amazon is also a factor, since global accessibility matters for an international readership.
